Country-code TLD eligible

.bq Caribbean Netherlands's unused country code

.bq is an eligible but undelegated country-code TLD for Caribbean Netherlands. The ISO 3166-1 code exists, so a ccTLD could be created, but nobody operates it today and it isn't in the root zone.

What is .bq?

A ccTLD only goes live when a manager applies to IANA and the delegation is approved. Until then, Caribbean Netherlands uses other domains — usually the ccTLD of the country it's associated with.

.bq FAQ

Can I register a .bq domain?

No. .bq is not delegated, so there is no registry selling names under it.

Why does .bq exist if it isn't used?

Every ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code is eligible to become a ccTLD. IANA lists .bq because the code is assigned to Caribbean Netherlands, even though no delegation has happened.
